There are some events that feel extra special to photograph, and this was one of them.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph an infertility awareness event hosted by Making a Miracle and Mamas Who Brunch in St. Louis. These two groups came together to create a beautiful afternoon centered around something so many women and families experience, but that can often feel incredibly isolating: infertility.
The event brought together women who have experienced infertility, are currently navigating fertility treatments, or simply wanted to come alongside and support those who are.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to hear from several people who openly shared their own infertility journeys. Hearing their stories, experiences, and the different ways infertility can affect someone emotionally and physically was incredibly meaningful. It was also a beautiful reminder of how important it is to simply show up for people who are going through something difficult.
The event wasn't just about raising awareness. Making a Miracle and Mamas Who Brunch also worked to raise funds to help support individuals and families who are navigating infertility and fertility treatments. There were also several local vendors who came out to support the cause and connect with the women attending.
From the beautiful details and vendor booths to the conversations happening throughout the room, there were so many meaningful moments to capture.
I loved getting to photograph an event where the focus wasn't just on the event itself, but on people, connection, and community.
As a St. Louis photographer, I love being able to photograph more than just traditional family sessions. Community events, fundraisers, celebrations, and meaningful gatherings all have their own stories to tell, and I love documenting those moments so the people behind them can look back and remember not only what the day looked like, but how it felt.
I'm so grateful I got to be part of this afternoon and capture a small piece of the work Making a Miracle and Mamas Who Brunch are doing to support women and families in the St. Louis community.
